    The Challenge

    Emirates Airlines is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, with destinations in Europe, North America, the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, the Far East and Australia. With the United Arab Emirates, especially travel hub Dubai, placing an increasing emphasis on being a high-end travel destination, Emirates Airlines approached Atmosphere to develop a digital solution to reflect this high-end environment and compel people to fly to Dubai.

    The Solution

    Based on the strategic insight that world-class travelers are driven by exploration, we developed the platform “Discover Emirates,” and brought the positioning to life with a dynamic content-managed website that highlights the best-in-class service and global feel of the Emirates brand across 10 languages.

    The new site serves as an all-encompassing experience for various passenger needs, including planning a trip, booking and managing individual flights, securing hotels and making car arrangements. The highly visual and interactive environment encourages users to explore products, services and amenities, including cabin features, fine dining and in-flight entertainment, as well as learn about the history and local attractions in Dubai through the “Discover Dubai” tool.

    One of the major advantages of the redesigned site is the flight search and pricing system. Rather than just being presented with one price for a preferred time, passengers are shown seat availability for seven days on either side of
    the requested travel date, thereby giving customers an opportunity to make a truly valuable discovery — less expensive fares.

    The Results

    For one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, online success needed to come equally fast. Since the site’s relaunch, bookings per day have increased by 45% and overall site revenues have increased by 30%. In the world of awards, the site has received a multitude of honors, including 2009 Best Airline Website from the IAC and Travel d’Or, a 2009 Honorary Webby Award, a 2008 WebAward for Best Airline Website and was a 2008 World Luxury Award winner.
